About Ailsa

As well as being a Movement Medicine Apprentice Teacher, Ailsa is a performer, director, and researcher and has also practiced as a printmaker and community artist. Since 1995 she has made site-specific work integrating performance, installation and digital media and performed and directed her own work and work with other companies (e.g. Kneehigh Theartre) in Wales, Ireland, Italy and Australia. She has trained extensively in BodyWeather and with companies internationally e.g. Goat Island Performance Group. Since 2007 she has been engaged with practice as research and teaching in Universities. She enjoys teaching Movement Medicine to beginners and experienced movers. As facilitator and teacher she aims to create spaces that give a balance of lively investigation and ongoing sustenance for participants.

Specialising in:

Integration of Movement Medicine with somatic performer training, particularly in relation to collaborative creative practice, place and the natural environment. Ailsa runs weekend workshops that include the making of creative work in outdoor environments with group process that is healing and transformational.
